Monthly Top 10

I must say when it comes to music I am very much a repeat offender. I love listening to the same songs over and over and over…and over again. But I do update my library of music about every 2 months. Here’s some of songs I’m listening to on repeat daily:

1. Cold Water: Major Lazer Ft. Justin Bieber

It is no secret among my friends that I am huge Belieber but I must say my first time hearing this song I had big reservations. Back in October of 2015 when Justin’s album Purpose was released, it did so with the understanding that he was coming out reborn and anew. Upon that release I was very excited and I fell in love with each song but not all at once. I needed to grow with the idea that he could also preform dance music, not just pop & R&B. ‘Cold Water’ is a great song not just for dancing but the lyrics will have you swaying and bobbing like any other JB song would.

2. Treat You Better: Shawn Mendes

I am not astranger to this man’s hits (such as Stitches and I Know What You Did Last Summer) but I didn’t realize how much I really liked hearing his voice until I heard this song. He’s very talent and actually reminds me of a boy version of Lady Gaga. I know that may sound crazy but I saw him sing Sia’s ‘Cheap Thrills’ on The Late Late Show with James Corden and I literally wanted to cry. I love when Lady Gaga sings acappella and I think he’s right up there with her.

3. Bacon: Nick Jonas

The fact that Nick (or whoever wrote the song) named this song bacon makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. For those who don’t know bacon, as gross as some people may think it may be, is an American delicacy. Come to America and you’ll find that we pretty much will put bacon on anything. The song lyrics states “The one thing I love more than being with you, And that’s late nights, doing what I wanna do
I got sleep eyes, I woke up like this
Feel like, aw shit, throw some bacon on it”. Like I said we’ll throw bacon on anything meaning bacon can figuratively be anything that you cherish, and throw it on top of something just might make it that much better…lol!!!

4. Body Say: Demi Lovato

I always say I’m not a fan of Demi, that I much rather Miley Cyrus or Selena Gomez, but I always end up loving every single one of her hits. Being that her album ‘Confident’ came out nearly a year ago, I was ecstatic to learn that while she was on tour (w/Nick Jonas) she released a new song. ‘Body Say’ is sexy but it’s upbeat which is a nice change. She doesn’t over do the naughty but brings the dance pop sound we all love.

5. I Don’t Care: Ariana Grande

I would be lying big time if I said I was not thoroughly addicted to her new single Side by Side with Nicki Minaj but I must say after giving her album a chance, I’ve come to the realization that Ariana Grande has done it again, and it was great. But ‘I Don’t Care’ just hit me like a ton of bricks. It’s so loaded and personal and emotional and brilliant. It’s basically about forgiveness. About letting go of all the bad things whether they came from a bad relationship with a boyfriend/girlfriend or whomever. It may be about breaking up and getting closure, it may be about rekindling an old relationship, but I do know it’s beautiful.

6. The Life: Fifth Harmony

This song is literally what I think we all want and dream for: Money and what you can do with it. This song makes me want to dance in my house, on the way to the store, and anywhere else for that matter. Living the life of luxury is a dream some people live and the rest of us can only dream of. These amazing singers relay that message to a beat that will have you dancing and hoping for a little more out of life.

7. Goosebumps: Travis Scott

Travis Scott. OMG. He has this sound that it so hard follow and understand that when you listen to his music enough you realize there is nothing to understand, all you need to do is follow and go along for the ride. This song sounds spooky at first, even the name is spooky, but I get goosebumps just listening to it. He’s breaking out into the music business on his own account and with his own sound. If you haven’t heard it go for it…head first.

8. Too Good: Drake Ft. Rihanna

I honestly don’t know anyone who doesn’t love these two. Regardless of whether they are dating or not, they’re musical chemistry is off the charts. This song is probably, for me, the best feature by this duo I’ve ever heard. This time it sounds like they’re actually talking to each other and it make me scream inside, not really because I ship them but mostly because I would love to sing this with my boyfriend *heart-eyes*

9. We Don’t Talk Anymore: Charlie Puth Ft. Selena Gomez

I’m not the biggest Puth or Gomez fan but I do check out their newly released hits every once in awhile. I wasn’t all that into this song at first but it has recently become a favorite of mine because of my writing. I’ve been doing some writing of my own and in need of inspiration I decided what better than to pick songs that share the feelings I need to portray. To say the least, it helped big time and slowly became a song on my ‘Faves’ playlist. Things happen in a relationship that may leave people unable associate with each other anymore, these two performers did a great job portraying that in song.

10. Ain’t My Fault: Zara Larson

This song is last but absolutely not last. I would always skip this song (like I said, I love listening to the same songs) until I came upon the video. Now, the video is ok but really watching and listening to it had me so much more interested into the song. I also realized that after ‘Never Forget You’ Zara is way more vast in her abilities to deliver in a masterpiece. She has a great voice and the song is just as another hit she’s tacking on to her repertoire.

I guess that’s it for my top 10 this month. What’s your favorite song? See any favorites here???
